Test Valley volunteer receives award

On Friday 13 October, Dale Lansley, a SSAFA Hampshire fundraiser and caseworker, was awarded a Sir James Gildea Award for outstanding commitment to the military charity.

Mike Sibbons, SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity’s Hampshire Branch Chair, presented the Sir James Gildea Award to Dale, on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.

Mike said:

“I am proud to read the following citation:

“You were nominated for your excellent support to Hampshire Branch awareness and fundraising events for over the past five years. Your sheer dedication and commitment have not only raised the profile of SSAFA at countless Hampshire events, but also helped to raise many thousands of pounds in donations. I would like to pass my sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of the whole SSAFA team.”.

Dale said:

“I am honoured and excited to receive this award – thank you!”

The Sir James Gildea Awards exist to recognise volunteers and employees of SSAFA for exceptional contribution and commitment to the charity’s activities and values.  Any SSAFA volunteer or employee can nominate someone who inspires them and who goes the extra mile to help service people, veterans and their families, in their times of need.
