SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, are delighted to announce that The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC), and Greenwich Hospital have awarded £107,550 in three grants to support SSAFA’s Forcesline, Casework and Mentoring services.
The ongoing partnership between SSAFA, RNRMC and Greenwich Hospital will continue to help support both serving personnel and veterans, as well as their families.
Last year, SSAFA’s casework service supported 35,819 cases, with 3,961 naval beneficiaries receiving support throughout 2018. This new funding ensures that members of the Navy family will be supported in their time of need.
Sir Andrew Gregory, CEO at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity said:
“These exceptionally generous donations from The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and from Greenwich Hospital will allow SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity to continue its vital support to current and former members of the Naval Service as well as their families.”
“We continue to adapt our services to meet the evolving needs of our clients in order to build their independence and dignity. Those who have given a great deal to this Nation through their military service deserve support should they need it; we are proud to be able to provide that in partnership with RNRMC and Greenwich Hospital and are extremely grateful for their contributions.”
Mandy Lindley, Director of Relationships and Fundraising at The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity said:
“We are delighted to continue supporting the vital work that SSAFA do for our Naval community. SSAFA’s care for serving personnel, their families, and veterans embodies the vision that the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity strives for: a world in which our sailors, marines, and their families are valued and supported, for life. We are pleased that this grant will allow SSAFA’s key services to further develop and thrive.”
The RNRMC distributes millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, provides lifelong support to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the forces, and their families. This includes both regulars and reserves.
Notes to editors
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year our teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 82,000 people in need, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts, and their families. SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. And we are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.
