RATE OF PAY: £80,000 plus benefits

DESCRIPTION: The Deputy Chief Executive role is pivotal to the success of the Union Jack Club, a charity for serving and former non-commissioned members of the HM Armed Forces providing a haven in London. The Union Jack Club has been standing at Waterloo for over 100 years. Its founder was Ethel McCaul, a Royal Red Cross nurse and her vision remains our primary purpose today: to provide serving and former non-commissioned members of the Armed Forces and their families with a comfortable and friendly base for their visits to London with over 21 million guests since its doors opened.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Deputy Chief Executive will manage the day to day standards, efficiency and effectiveness of the Union Jack Club, with a high level of motivation and morale through the Front of House, Food and Beverage, Security, Kitchen, Administration, Housekeeping and Facility teams. The role will also be expected to deputise for the Chief Executive in his absence.

The Deputy Chief Executive will promote a helpful & professional image at all times, to lead by example with a caring and helpful attitude to employees, members and guests. With a proven track record as a Manager and excellent leadership skills, the successful candidate will have experience in coaching line managers and identifying training needs and have the ability to lead and inspire others with excellent communication skills.

The role has financial responsibilities alongside Health & Safety, the Security of the Club and support Sales & Marketing in generating on-going use of the Club’s facilities, meeting and banqueting rooms. Previous experience in the hotel / catering industries will be beneficial, applications from former members of the Armed Forces, especially those with experience in the provision of hospitality services, will be welcomed.
