The Veterans’ Foundation adds a new major Grants Funding Programme

Thanks to the enduring support of the UK public, the Veterans’ Foundation (VF) has substantially increased its grant giving year on year since inception in 2016.  And now the VF has established a new Major Grants funding programme to enable major change or progress in a charitable organisation which provides support to those in need among serving armed forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families.

Major Grants of between £100,000 and £200,000 are now available! This funding can be applied for one year or a multi-year grant for up to three years.  The first step in the application process is to complete the Major Grants Eligibility Quiz by visiting the VF website “Apply for a grant” tab. The Major Grants funding programme will prioritise organisations that have a clear track record of delivering meaningful impact and with evidenced outcomes for our Armed Forces Community or where the case is particularly strong and benefit to beneficiaries is closely aligned with the VF objectives. Please visit the VF Grant Application webpage to review eligibility criteria and details and deadlines here: https://www.veteransfoundation.org.uk/apply-for-a-grant/

Expressions of Interest must be submitted via the VF website no later than midnight on 7 May 2024.

With the addition of the Major Grants funding programme there are currently three grant funding programmes available (with more to come!):

1) Standard Grants of any sum up to a maximum of £30K may be awarded. Trustees will also consider a bid for a spread grant up to a maximum of £30K, i.e. £30K as £10K for each of the next two or three years.

2) Salary Grants of any sum up to a maximum of £25K per year for three years (ie maximum £75K) for the exclusive use on salaries may be awarded.

3) Major Grants of between £100,000 and £200,000 are available. This can be for one year or a multi-year grant for up to three years.  These grants are awarded where the case is particularly strong and benefit to beneficiaries is closely aligned with the VF objectives.

For additional details on these funding programmes, please visit the “Apply For a Grant” tab on the VF website, and read the detailed guidance for organisations bidding for grants.
