Veterans Awareness Training- Plymouth

seAp Advocacy were delighted to be part of an interactive training day for front line health and social care staff who serve our Veteran Community in Plymouth. Our Military Advocacy Service in Plymouth developed and delivered the training in partnership with Improving Lives Plymouth. The event was funded by the Chancellor using LIBOR funds.

Military Advocate, Marie McPherson, who lead the traning, was thrilled with the energy and enthusiasm in the room. Marie said “Sessions like this show that when organisations get together, they bring different things to the table and we can all learn from each other”. There was lots of positive feedback from attendees “I enjoyed hearing from first-hand experience the difficulties veterans face”. “I would definitely recommend the course”. Thank you to the Royal British Legion for hosting the event and to our partners who were involved. There are more dates scheduled – 23rd November 2017, 7th December 2017 and 27th February 2018.
