The Veterans’ Foundation is delighted to announce that our trustee Maggie Pedder has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours in recognition of her outstanding service to Armed Forces families.
Alongside a distinguished HR career over 30 years, Maggie has dedicated many years to supporting the military community through trustee and leadership roles, including 12 years with the Army Families Federation, four and a half years as Chair of the Military Wives Choirs, and as a trustee of the Army Widows’ Association.
Andrew Anderson, Chair of the Veterans’ Foundation, said:
“We are absolutely delighted Maggie has been recognised with an MBE. This honour is richly deserved and reflects decades of dedicated service to Armed Forces families. Maggie brings exceptional insight, compassion and commitment to everything she does, and we are incredibly fortunate to benefit from her expertise as a trustee.”
Jane Gurney, Chief Executive of the Veterans’ Foundation, added:
“Maggie is an exceptional advocate for the Armed Forces community and a highly valued member of our board. Her passion for supporting veterans and their families shines through in all her work. We are immensely proud to see her receive this well-deserved recognition and congratulate her on this wonderful achievement.”
Commenting on her work, Maggie said:
“Military service is a way of life, not just a career. Transitioning out of that environment can be complex and challenging, both for veterans and their families. I am particularly passionate about supporting families and female veterans, whose needs can sometimes be overlooked. The Veterans’ Foundation’s support for specialist and grassroots charities helps ensure funding and tailored support is available where it is most needed.”
Everyone at the Veterans’ Foundation congratulates Maggie on this outstanding achievement and thanks her for her continued dedication to the Armed Forces community.
