Win £500 for yourself and £15,000 for your RAF station

The RAF Benevolent Fund has launched an appeal for serving RAF personnel, reservists and their partners to complete a short survey to help inform the future of its welfare services.

The RAF’s leading welfare charity has commissioned this new piece of research to enable the charity to better respond to the needs of the serving RAF Family. Those who complete this short survey can enter a prize draw to win up to £500, with an additional 75 runner-up prizes of between £20 and £100 in Amazon vouchers also to be won.

The RAF station with the highest proportion of responses will receive a £15,000 welfare grant to be spent on the station.

Air Commodore Paul Hughesdon, Director of Welfare and Policy at the RAF Benevolent Fund, said: “The survey will help the Fund to more clearly understand the needs of the RAF Family, from an individual perspective, and will help us to better respond to that need.

“We recognise that as the composition of the RAF Family and the challenges that they face change, so must the support that we offer. It is really important that everyone completes the research as we want to support singlies, weekend commuters, as well as married personnel and their families, whether regular or reserves.

“Extensive research within the veterans’ community has allowed us to expand our services to them, with services such as relationship support and bereavement support. Whilst we have some research from the serving RAF, what we are missing is the individual’s voice. Once we have this, we can then deliver tailored services to the serving RAF, that better meet their needs.

“Having a huge response is really important in getting excellent research results, and so I encourage everyone to complete their survey and get their mates and partners to do so as well. Thank you in advance!”

The survey can be found at www.rafbfsurvey.org and will take around 8 to 10 minutes to complete and all answers will be anonymous.

The Survey launches on Wednesday, 15 November, and will close on Tuesday, 19  December.
