14th February 2018: OA Event – Operations Management Workshop – Manchester

The skills and experience required to manage operations are common within the Forces and many individuals look to transition into a new career within Operations Management when they leave; but what does this look like in a civilian context?

Kindly hosted by Barclays, this workshop will explore civilian careers within operational management, examining the similarities and differences between civilian operational roles, and those within the Forces. You will have the opportunity to hear from some fantastic, insightful speakers, who already work in operations management, offering advice on factors to consider when entering a particular sector.

The speakers will be from local employers based in the North West region, from a variety of sectors, roles and organisations. We are delighted with the breadth of speakers from renowned organisations, who understand the skill set accumulated through a military career. Many of the speakers throughout the session will share their top tips for transitioning from the military into operational management roles, as well as explaining how best to build a second career within civilian industries.

We will also be joined by panel of HR managers and recruiters across a range of sectors, answering questions about their recruitment processes and top tips for securing an operations management role.

This interactive, intensive look into operational management across civilian sectors will provide you with the insight and practical advice to kick start your second career within operations management.
