Families Federations look for a research partner

Are you an academic organisation or research body looking for a new opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping the experience of serving personnel and their families overseas?

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has awarded a four-year grant to the Army Families Federation (AFF) in partnership with the Naval Families Federation (NFF) and the Royal Air Force Families Federation (RAFFF) for the Valuing Forces Families Overseas programme.

We are launching a portfolio of projects which are designed to support serving personnel and their families to be able to have the best experience overseas.

To inform this work, AFF has now launched its invitation to tender and is looking for an organisation to help us undertake a discovery and development phase. This will be a six-month research project which aims to complement the work already being done in helping the Families Federations understand what information, advice and guidance serving personnel and families really need when serving overseas.

Work will make a difference

This research will inform the work we will be doing over the next four years to really make a difference. The findings and recommendations will inform and improve our planned projects, help us scope new ones, and provide a report that will include recommendations to help inform the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, MOD and Government in future policy and decision making.

For an application pack, please email: contact@aff.org.uk for the attention of Rachel Smith, Head of Policy. The deadline for applications is 22 September 2025.
