The Forces Employment Charity is proud to announce a renewed partnership for 2026 with the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF), strengthening our commitment to improving job opportunities for RAF veterans and their families across the UK.
Thanks to a £40,000 grant from the RAFBF, the Forces Employment Charity will provide career coaching, training, mentoring, and job matching to help RAF veterans and families succeed in civilian life. Advisors will connect them with employers who value military skills and experience.
The project aims to increase employability, financial stability and long-term success through career guidance, skills training and job opportunities. Since the partnership began, 2,107 RAF veterans registered for support. By the end of 2026, that figure is expected to grow to a further 950 veterans and their families.
Many veterans face practical barriers to finding civilian employment, including attending interviews and translating military skills into a civilian CV.
The charities’ partnership also recognises the wider impact of service life on families. Frequent moves, childcare challenges and disrupted career paths can make it difficult for spouses and partners to build lasting careers. Through its Families Programme, the Forces Employment Charity supports non-serving partners and young people, helping them develop skills, explore career options and access employment.
James Murphy, Director of Veterans and Families Employment at the Forces Employment Charity, said:
“Our renewed partnership with the RAF Benevolent Fund strengthens the seamless, complementary support we provide to the RAF Family. By working closely together, we ensure veterans and their families can access the right help at the right time, with our Employment Advisors actively signposting to the Fund’s wider services so no one falls through the gaps.
“This collaboration allows us to equip more veterans and families with the confidence, skills and opportunities they need to build fulfilling, sustainable careers after service.”
Irene Greenwood, Welfare Programmes Manager at the RAF Benevolent Fund, said:
“Working closely with military charities is an essential part of the Fund’s support to the RAF Family. The vital work undertaken by the Forces Employment Charity makes a real difference to Service leavers, reservists, veterans, and their families. We are proud to stand alongside them and remain ready to provide support wherever it is needed.”
