DWP Disability Services Advocacy Team – April 2026 Veteran Community Stakeholder Sessions

April 2026 Veteran Community Stakeholder Sessions (Please note: these sessions are for organisations outside the DWP only)

Since we were established in 2019, the Disability Services Advocacy Team has worked to understand and support the veteran and armed forces community and their needs. This has involved working collaboratively with veteran stakeholders and the wider veteran community.

Our aim has been to support the upskilling of our disability benefits, in particular looking at Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and Access to Work (AtW). These benefits and grants help support independence as well as helping individuals find and retain work.

This year we are hosting talks from fantastic veteran and armed forces charities and organisations; The Forcer Protocol, Fighting with Pride and the Female Veteran Transformation Program. All three focus on enhancing the experience of the veteran community.

In addition to this our DWP Armed Forced Champions are introducing their role, the essential work they do and providing insight into the work they have undertaken in the last year to support the veteran community. Jan Atkinson, Veteran and DWP visiting officer is joining the call to share his lived experience of receiving support from the DWP.

At the end of each session, we will have time for feedback and questions & answers.

Please note: You are required to enter the password BEFORE entering the session page on Eventbrite.
