Spectacular ‘Beating Retreat’ Returns to London in Support of Naval Charities

The magnificent Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines Beating Retreat will return to London this summer, bringing a spectacular evening of military music, tradition and pageantry to the iconic Horse Guards Parade on 16 and 17 July 2026.

This spectacular evening of military music and ceremonial pageantry will see more than 200 of the world’s finest military musicians perform in one of the capital’s most historic settings, against the stunning backdrop of St James’s Park.

Audiences will be treated to a stirring programme featuring the Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines, the precision drill of the 40-strong Corps of Drums, and a Royal Navy Guard of Honour. The evening will culminate in the moving Naval Sunset ceremony, a tradition rich in heritage that provides a powerful and memorable finale.

All proceeds from the event will support the work of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and RMA – The Royal Marines Charity, helping to provide vital support to sailors, marines, veterans and their families.

Performances will take place on:

  • Thursday 16 July 2026 – 18:30
  • Friday 17 July 2026 – 18:30

Both performances will be held at Horse Guards Parade in central London.

Tickets range from £17 to £45, with seated and special access options available. Wheelchair tickets include a companion within the same ticket. Groups of 20 or more can receive a 10% discount using the code BEATGROUP (maximum discount £100).

This historic event offers a rare opportunity to witness the precision, tradition and musical excellence of the Royal Marines in one of London’s most impressive ceremonial settings.
