Reading Force event with Meg Rosoff

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, the launch of Armed Forces Week in Aldershot, and the 15th anniversary of Aldershot-founded book charity Reading Force, the charity is delighted to offer a community shared-read and special event with Meg Rosoff.

Internationally acclaimed and Carnegie award-winning author Meg Rosoff will be talking about her books Almost Nothing Happened (Bloomsbury, 2024) and The Great Godden (Bloomsbury 2020) and sharing her inspiration for writing, at a special event at the West End Centre on Monday 29 June. She will be interviewed by Alison Baverstock, founder of Reading Force. Bar opens at 7pm, event starts at 8pm.

You are welcome to grab a ticket and pick up your copy of Almost Nothing Happened from the West End Centre before the date (so listen to Meg having read it) or collect one on the night.

Meg will also be leading an event through local Aldershot schools on Tuesday 30th June. She was the author who launched Reading Force at Wavell School in 2011, and returned in 2021 for their tenth anniversary. She is delighted to be leading the action in Aldershot for their 15th anniversary. The award-winning charity Reading Force – seeks to connect the military community through shared-reading, leading to better communication, wellbeing and resilience, particularly important during times of uncertainty.
