Building on ABF The Soldiers’ Charity successes and significant achievements to date, this is a unique opportunity to oversee the overall development of the Charity’s information environment strategy and its implementation.  Reporting to the Chief of Staff and working closely with other members of the Senior Management Board, you will participate in strategic, operational and technical governance.

As Chief Information Officer, you will be responsible for producing a robust information environment policy and framework, to deliver appropriate policies, standards and guidelines, ensuring that all aspects of the organisation are legal and compliant.

We are seeking an outstanding individual with in depth knowledge of general data protection laws and regulations and significant experience of managing information environment projects and services.

You will balance being sufficiently technically competent with a good grounding in business fundamentals; you need a strong strategic and business mindset, with substantial exposure to business intelligence and big data, a firm grasp of project management and managing  change. The ability to build effective relationships with senior colleagues, manage stakeholders’ expectations, and utilise diplomacy, influencing and engagement skills are essential.
