Admiral Sir Tony Radakin appointed Trustee of Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity

The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Sir Tony Radakin, GBE, KCB, DL to its Board of Trustees, further strengthening the charity’s connection to the Royal Naval community and its future strategic leadership.

Sir Tony joins the Board at a significant time for RNRMC as the charity continues to strengthen its support for serving personnel, veterans and families across the Royal Naval community. His appointment brings a wealth of leadership experience, strategic insight and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing today’s Armed Forces community.

Having served as First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff before becoming Chief of the Defence Staff, Sir Tony has dedicated his career to public service and the wellbeing of those who serve. Throughout his naval career, he has been a strong advocate for people, families and veterans, championing initiatives designed to improve support across the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Speaking about his appointment, Sir Tony Radakin said:

“We are fortunate in the Royal Navy to have charities that provide outstanding support to our people and families, and RNRMC is central to that effort. I have seen first-hand the impact the charity has across the naval community, and I am honoured to join the Board of Trustees. I look forward to supporting the charity’s important work and helping ensure that support remains available wherever and whenever it is needed.”

RNRMC is the principal charity of the Royal Navy, working alongside partners and beneficiaries to provide lifelong support to serving personnel, veterans and their families. The charity funds projects and organisations that improve mental and physical wellbeing, strengthen families, support transition to civilian life and respond in times of crisis.

Sir Tony’s appointment reflects RNRMC’s continued commitment to strong leadership and close connection with the communities it serves, as the charity looks ahead to its next phase of strategic development and impact.
