Announcing Aldo Kane as RMA – The Royal Marines Charity Ambassador

We are thrilled to announce that Aldo Kane, former Royal Marines Commando Sniper, world record setting adventurer, extreme, remote and hostile locations’ safety expert and author, has agreed to help champion RMA – The Royal Marines Charity as a valued Ambassador.

Aldo is a well-known TV and film adventurer with over 20 years’ experience ‘on and off’ set. He has worked in some of the most extreme, remote and inhospitable places on the planet, and appeared on many BBC, Nat Geo, Disney, Discovery and Channel 4 TV channels. His commitment to safety in challenging environments has earned him the renowned reputation as a trusted survival expert in the field.

Born in 1977 in Scotland, and now living in Bristol, his fascination with exploration and adventure began at an early age. To pursue this passion, he determined to join the Royal Marines, joining as soon as he could at the age 16 and going on to become one of the youngest snipers in the armed forces at the time.

His 10-year military career on operations around the world, equipped him with the strong mental and physical resilience he continues to draw on to this day.

Aldo has, to date, completed 13 world-first expeditions that includes having been part of the world record-breaking team that was the first ever to row from mainland Europe to mainland South America; and more recently he led an expedition inside one of the world’s most active volcanoes, mid eruption.

In his memoir, ‘Lessons From The Edge’, Aldo describes his journey from Commando to Extreme Environment expert that has inspired many others to push their limits, explore the unknown and strive for a better life.

RMA – The Royal Marines Charity offers lifelong support to the Royal Marines Family. As the Corps own charity, we are uniquely placed to understand, respond and react, enabling Marines and their families to overcome their challenges, from life-changing injury or limiting illness, to mental health issues, transition to civilian life and even poverty.

To offer the best possible support to those who are so deserving and who have served their country, often paying the ultimate price, we need champions like Aldo who fully embrace the Commando Mindset, to help us connect with as wide an audience as we can and so greatly look forward to welcoming him on board as an Ambassador.
