The OA welcomed British Forces TV to our London office to speak to Head of Employment, Liz Stevens, about the Virtual Careers Fair which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday last week.
The ‘Ex-Military in Management’ Careers Fair, organised by the OA and SaluteMyJob, was aimed at serving and former Service Personnel wanting management roles in the commercial or third sectors. Over 300 people took part, and more than 100 CVs were shared with employers and recruiters.
The Virtual Career Fair enabled attendees to access exhibitor stands; engage with recruiters and employers and find jobs specifically of interest to people with military experience. They could visit a virtual auditorium, and watch live and recorded webcast presentations. There were professional networking features including scheduled discussions, message boards, forums, group chat and one-to-one career advice sessions.
Following the success of the first OA Virtual Careers Fair, the OA will look to run similar digital events in future.
