Fighting With Pride (FWP) is looking for an outstanding leader for this exciting new vacancy of LGBT+ Veterans Community Team Manager. Initially for a period of 24 months, this fundamental, enabling, rewarding and busy role will make a real difference to the lives of LGBT+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families, around the UK (including Scotland and Northern Ireland).
FWP was formed in January 2020 to support LGBT+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families and is a registered charity, led by Joint CEO’s Caroline Paige and Craig Jones, who will be there to guide you in this role.
An increasing number of Veterans are contacting our charity, and we want to build an exceptional new team to support them, with this post at its heart. You will be managing a team of 5 Community Workers across the UK (these posts are also vacant), signposting service users to organisations where they will receive a warm welcome and will develop their self-esteem, self-confidence, independence and resilience, and working those organisations to enable positive LGBT+ inclusion.
You will be an ambassador for FWP, an initiative-taker with a passion for helping people and have an awareness of the challenges faced by the LGBT+ Veterans, or other related community. Strong leadership, communication and team working skills are also required, along with good relationship building and interpersonal skills.
