LGBT+ Veterans’ Experiences Survey

Fighting With Pride in partnership with the Northern Hub for Veterans and Military Families Research (VMFR), at Northumbria University, is conducting an online survey to enable as many LGBT+ veterans as possible to contribute their lived experiences to our research programme, which aims to tackle loneliness and social isolation and develop inclusive health, wellbeing and support services.  Your experiences and views can help shape health and wellbeing services to better support LGBT+ Veterans and this is a fantastic opportunity to be a change maker.

This research began in April 2021 and completes in April 2023. Narrative from our First Phase (qualitative research) contributors has informed this survey and is already being used to build better understanding of the impacts of the ban on LGBT+ service and develop inclusive support services. However, we now need wider community participation to help deliver the best possible outcomes, and we are inviting you to complete the survey at the following link, please:
https://northumbria.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/lgbt-veterans-survey

The survey is quite straightforward with a variety of question structures, and your response is anonymised. It should take around 20-30 minutes, though this depends on answers to optional narrative elements. You don’t have to answer all questions, and some may not be applicable either. The Survey will remain live until end of 30 November 2022.

Your participation provides the opportunity to make the most positive impact and is very much appreciated, and we thank you in advance for any contribution. Any questions regarding the survey should be directed in the first instance to the Research Team, through Dr Alison Osborne, alison.osborne2@northumbria.ac.uk
