We are thrilled to announce the launch of a powerful new partnership between six leading limb loss and limb difference organisations: Amputation Foundation, Blesma, Finding You Feet, LimbPower, Reach and Steel Bones. This alliance marks an exciting step forward in amplifying the voices of individuals with limb differences across the UK and beyond.
This news comes on the last day of April’s Limb Loss Limb Difference Awareness Month.
Thanks to the successful bid led by Reach, the partnership has secured vital social media campaigning support from the National Lottery Community Fund. Over the next 3 years, we will have dedicated communications expertise helping to drive forward awareness, break down barriers, and build momentum toward Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM) 2026 and beyond.
The support includes professional campaigning time, giving us a strong foundation to elevate public understanding and push for greater inclusion.
The partners all stated as one:
“This collaboration brings together the passion, expertise, and lived experience of our communities. Together, we can make a louder, stronger call for greater awareness and representation for people living with limb difference. This is only the beginning – we are excited to shape a 5-year vision together that reflects all our voices.”
Key elements of the alliance will be to create:
- A shared communications plan is being developed, rooted in the priorities and ambitions of all partners to ensure the Limb Loss & Limb different community have the best support available to them.
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is being finalised to ensure a clear, collaborative framework.
- Further workshops and planning meetings will be scheduled to co-create a 5-year action plan for sustainable impact.
This new alliance signals an exciting new era of collaboration and community power. By working together, we will amplify the achievements, needs, and aspirations of the limb different community – and ensure their voices are heard louder than ever before.
