The BNTVA is the premier UK charity representing all people who have worked with or alongside radioactive material for the benefit of this nation. Formed initially to campaign for recognition and restitution of our Servicemen who participated in the British Nuclear Tests the organisation has evolved over the years to share it’s knowledge and heritage with people from all walks of life.
Working within the UK Charity sector we further seek to forge bonds of mutual benefit with other charitable bodies and support organisations both within the Ex-Service sphere and the wider community.
We are also committed to maintaining the heritage of our Veterans experiences by passing their incredible story on to future generations.
To provide nursing and residential support for Ex-Service men and women
The BuildForce core activities centre around the 2 sectors we occupy:
– upskill service leavers and veterans with training which leads to careers in construction
– support service leavers and veterans to secure careers in construction.
The vision for BuildForce is to inspire and enable ex-Service personnel to pursue long-term careers in construction whilst supporting industry to attract, retain and grow this incredible talent pool.
BuildForce is nationwide and offers a compliment of services focused on industry, training and well-being:
-Centred around a unique career programme with access to industry via mentoring, work placements, site visits, career chats and job roles.
-Our collaboration with University College of Estate Management created bespoke construction modules offering certification, a place on a degree course for onward learning and CPD.
-Mental health, wellbeing and stress management support is provided for all candidates by our psychologist.
Building Heroes provides ex-service personnel with a rapid transition into careers in the construction industry through retraining and employment support.
We provide an intensive programme covering a range of building skills, plus relevant health and safety training, to equip our graduates to progress into employment, self-employment or further training.
We have a growing network of employers able to offer job opportunities and provide appropriate individual support with your chosen career path.
Five week intensive course in building skills: brickwork, rendering, plastering, painting, tiling, plumbing, carpentry and joinery leading to Level 1 qualification

To provide assistance and welfare to, but not restricted to, veterans in the criminal justice system by the provison of a mentor.

To provide a mulit-disciplinary approach for the care and rehabilitation of those with neurological and medical disabilities – predominantly those who have served with HM Forces.
Carer Support Wiltshire is a registered charity that supports all carers in Wiltshire. Our aim is to create carer friendly communities where carers are recognised, valued and supported.
A carer is anybody who provides support to a family member, friend or neighbour who could not always manage without that support
Our Courage to Care Service is funded by the Armed Forces Covenant to provide services to serving military families who are caring for somebody and may experience additional pressures due to the nature of serving family life
Courage to Care focuses on developing peer support networks, and offering additional skills that will enable carers to access work and accredited courses that will enable families to sustain themselves

CESSAC has been operating amenity centres for serving members of the Armed Forces and their families in establishments at home and abroad for over 125 years. It branched out into managing sheltered housing for retired ex-HM forces people and their family members in southern England over 40 years ago through its sister organisation CESSA HA. Both organisations are managed from the Head Office in Portsmouth and share the website. The CofE in each title simply reflects the ethos of the founders and Directors – delivery has always been to those of all religions and none.
CESSAC provides a number of homely, welcoming alcohol-free cafes for serving Armed Forces Personnel and their families in Cyprus, Germany, Falklands & UK
CESSA HA manages sheltered housing schemes for ex-Service personnel & their families over age 60 – 6 schemes are in the Portsmouth area, mostly for those from any Service, with 2 others only for former naval service personnel in Greenwich & Saltash (those owned by Greenwich Hospital)
