Military charities targets children

This month, the London branches of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, have come together to donate funds to Regent’s Park Barracks to ensure service children are kept entertained and looked after throughout the summer holidays.

The children, who all come from military families, will benefit from a trip to Cotswold Wildlife Centre, a workshop at Vauxhall City Farm, a gardening club and free lunches during their summer activities.

Agnieska Tikoisuva, AWS Community Development Manager at Regent’s Park Barracks, said:

“The rising cost of living in UK leaves many service and veteran’s families unable to afford unsubsidized provisions. With SSAFA’s support we are able to provide fully funded activities and ensure that children and young people in our area can be exposed to new experiences and variety of informal learning opportunities, which is fundamental to their individual growth and development.

“I wish to thank SSAFA London for their support in funding our gardening projects, food for participating children and educational trips.”
