First bricks laid on new Veterans’ housing in Aldershot

Armed Forces Veterans have laid the first bricks at Stoll’s new development in Aldershot. Stoll, the leading provider of Veterans’ housing and support, is building 34 new homes for vulnerable and disabled Veterans to rent. The new homes are being built on the site of the former care home on the edge of a nature reserve in suburban Aldershot to address the housing shortage faced by the nation’s ex-Service men and women. The new homes will be available to rent from March 2018.

Stoll recommit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant with Chief of Defence People visit

The Chief of Defence People, Lieutenant General Richard Nugee CVO CBE, has visited Stoll to meet beneficiaries of the charity. He had a tour of Stoll’s Fulham site which is home to over 150 Veterans and the centre of a large number of charities offering services to Veterans. General Nugee was at Stoll to witness the charity recommit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community.

Stoll runs free English classes for Gurkha Veteran community in Hounslow

Stoll is offering free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes to support its Gurkha residents and their families improve their English and engage more confidently with the wider community. The first pilot course is currently running at Stoll’s Countess of Wessex House for two hours a week for 12 weeks and will come to an end in April.

The Veterans’ Nomination Scheme: addressing the urgent need for housing

As part of Stoll’s blog series, this month they hear from Julian Coates, the scheme’s project manager. Julian has worked in social care for 22 years and has been with Stoll since October 2012.

The Veterans’ Nomination Scheme works in partnership with housing associations, local authorities and other Veterans’ charities to match accommodation with Veterans in need of housing. It is funded by the Royal British Legion.

Peace Education Programme (PEP) at Stoll

The Peace Education Programme (PEP) begins in February 2017 at Stoll – All welcome. TPRF works to advance Prem Rawat’s message that peace is possible for each individual––that peace is both an inner resource and innate right. TPRF’s Peace for People initiatives include international events with government, education, and business leaders to promote understanding of individual peace as the basis for world peace.
