Salary: circa £37,000 per annum, commensurate with experience

Since 2010 The Poppy Factory employability service has facilitated over 950 job starts for Veterans (our clients) who experience some form of disability or health challenge in relation to work. Demand for our service has grown significantly; we are ambitious about supporting many more wounded; injured or sick veterans into meaningful and sustainable work and are now entering a further period of growth.

The Poppy Factory has an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic PR & Media Manager with great news sense and networking ability to join our expanding Communications team. This new role provides a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in creating, shaping and delivering The Poppy Factory’s PR and Media strategy, helping us to build our brand, work with high profile individuals and achieve our strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, adept at networking and passionate about supporting wounded, injured and sick veterans to achieve their potential. The ability to develop and maintain relationships with national and local journalists will be a key asset in creating a positive image and raising awareness of The Poppy Factory’s work.

This is a new role and you will be joining at an exciting time as we embark on the next chapter in our development.

The key purpose of this role is to develop and implement a national PR & Media strategy, delivering high quality proactive and reactive communications to promote The Poppy Factory’s activities. Working in partnership with the Fundraising and Employability teams as well as colleagues within the Communications team, the PR & Media Manager will develop, deliver and evaluate integrated campaigns.
