A research report about cyber crime in registered charities in England and Wales has been published by the Charity Commission. It includes insights and actions to help prevent cyber crime.
This report highlights the main findings from the Commission’s cybercrime survey of registered charities in England and Wales during March 2019.
The Charity Commission, supported by the Fraud Advisory Panel, contacted a representative and randomly selected sample of 15,000 charities, achieving a 22% response rate.
The results represent the largest survey ever undertaken into cyber crime in the UK charity sector, and provide insights into the threats facing the sector and the actions needed to combat them.
