Servicemen and women at RAF High Wycombe have washed cars at their base to raise money for Royal Star & Garter.
The team spent four hours cleaning a total of 32 vehicles, and raising £266.58 for the charity on Thursday 15 July.
Royal Star & Garter provides loving, compassionate care to veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia.
Residents from the charity’s High Wycombe Home paid the car-washers a visit to thank them for their efforts, and got their minibus scrubbed clean while they were there!
Flt Lt Sophie Dowers, from RAF High Wycombe, said:
“I’m over the moon that we were able to help such an amazing charity, and having Royal Star & Garter residents come down and support was definitely the highlight of the day. We’d like to thank them and all the members of the RAF High Wycombe Charity Committee for all their hard work, and to all that supported by bringing their cars to be washed.”
Royal Star & Garter resident John said:
“They did a great job cleaning the cars. And it was fun giving them a helping hand with our minibus.”
The charity’s Senior Community Fundraiser, Lauren Baker, said:
“Having the support of RAF High Wycombe means a lot to our residents, who have such close links to the Armed Forces. We’re grateful for their continued support.”
