Last Friday, 6th October, marked the Charity’s annual Red, White & Blue day in schools. The annual fundraising initiative, which raises vital funds for ourselves, The RAF Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy, and Royal Marines Charity, helps us to promote awareness of the difficulties faced by Service families.
This year, a staggering 179 schools signed up to take part in this fun day! Our 2017 campaign marked the centenaries of the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) and the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, whilst teaching the children about the key roles of women in the Services.
We were lucky to have three wonderful Service women who were happy to go into schools and talk about their time in the the Army, the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force, whilst answering questions that the children may have.
