RNRMC announces Portsmouth naval base cycle hub as charity partner

From 20 January 2024, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is pleased to welcome the Portsmouth Naval Base Cycle Hub as one if its new charity partners.

The Naval Base Cycle Hub, located on the HMS NELSON naval base, provides serving personnel and those who work on the base with the opportunity to purchase second-hand bikes, of which 10% of the profit will be donated to RNRMC.

The Cycle Hub also offers bike servicing and repairs and can supply new bike parts and equipment, such as clothing and lights.

The Hub’s manager, Simon Lean, is also keen to accept donations of pre-loved bikes for refurbishment and onward sale. Simon recognises the importance of sustainability:

“The dockyard is spread over a large geographical area. I am passionate about offering personnel more environmentally friendly options for getting from A to B through the sale of second-hand bikes through my shop. I’m proud to support the RNRMC at the same time as offering a service to the personnel they support.”

All second-hand bikes are sold with a 3-month warranty. The Naval Base Cycle Hub is open from Monday to Friday from 0830-1600 at the following address:
