RNRMC – Outreach Officer

RNRMC is looking to recruit an Outreach Officer to join its Grants team.

The charity awards funding each year to help serving and former sailors and marines and their families, with the aim of ensuring they feel valued and supported, throughout  their lives.

The Outreach Officer (Afghan) will work for RNRMC alongside the Royal Naval  Association (RNA) and other organisations to develop and pilot new approaches for funding to support membership from those veterans who served in more recent conflicts particularly in Afghanistan. Projects will support and improve wellbeing, resilience and promote good mental health.

The successful candidate will be a natural collaborator who is able to act on their own initiative and be a credible representative of the charity with a passion for community engagement and partnership working. As a confident self-starter with experience or understanding of military life you will share passion and values in making a real difference for our beneficiaries to support proactive and preventative work.

As part of our busy grants team, you will support our internal and external assurance  processes, systems and corporate governance to ensure value for money, and  demonstration of impact. You will have experience of successful project delivery as well  as have the ability to actively seek out opportunities and new ways of working which  improve outcomes for our beneficiaries.

This role will attract a starting salary from £28k, depending on experience, and comes with an excellent benefits package.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract role based in Portsmouth, with some home working and is funded by the Office for Veterans Affairs Afghanistan Veterans Fund.
