The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Adviser to provide specialist level welfare benefits casework to eligible individuals across Yorkshire.
This is a community-based role providing face-to-face advice from the Legion’s Pop In Centres, at outreach locations and in clients’ homes.
The ideal candidate will have recent, significant experience of managing a caseload of clients providing specialist welfare benefits advice including the preparation of written submissions and representation at appeal tribunals.
The role also requires you to have a good working knowledge of the welfare benefits system and provide comprehensive welfare benefits and income maximisation advice through the take up of appropriate statutory benefits.
We are looking for someone with excellent communications skills and a strong focus on quality customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to work and sound organisational skills.
You will be based in our Leeds office with regular attendance at other offices and outreach locations in the region.
You will be required to travel regularly for carrying out appointments, tribunal hearings and attending meetings.
The nature of the post will require you to have a full driving licence. A company car may be provided, depending on circumstances.
