A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part time Branch Secretary in the Tyne & Wear Branch of SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated person who will ensure the efficient day to day running of the branch office and provide support to the Divisional Secretaries and other volunteers within the branch. The post holder will complete and submit statistical returns to Central Office, manage the branch telephone line and field client enquiries as appropriate.  They will also support the recruitment of new volunteers and provide administrative support to the Branch.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully you will have been educated to GCSE Level or equivalent including Maths and English and have proven administrative experience with strong IT skills.  You must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of people; have excellent organisational and time management skills.  The personal qualities we require are for you to be non-judgemental, a good listener, have effective interpersonal skills and empathy with the military and veteran community.
