The Royal British Legion’s Irish Ex-Service Trust awards Combat Stress £75,000 grant to support veterans in Northern Ireland

Combat Stress has been awarded a £75,000 grant from the Irish Ex-Service Trust, a fund administered by the Royal British Legion, to help deliver specialist mental health treatment and support to veterans and their families across Northern Ireland.

This renewed funding, a 12‑month extension of the existing project, will enable Combat Stress to continue providing accessible, specialist support that helps veterans and their families, across the country, to recover from complex mental health issues and go on to live full and meaningful lives.

Chloe Mackay, CEO at Combat Stress, said:

“We’re extremely grateful to the Royal British Legion and the IEST Advisory Committee for continuing to support our life‑changing, and often life‑saving, treatment with this generous grant. The Irish Ex‑Service Trust’s funding will help us continue to make a real difference to the lives of veterans and their families across Northern Ireland.”

Steven Baynes, Head of Grants and Social Policy at the Royal British Legion says,

“We’re proud to continue our long-standing support for Combat Stress through the Irish Ex-Service Trust. For well over a decade, this partnership has helped ensure that veterans living in Northern Ireland can access specialist treatment for complex mental health conditions.

“This latest funding will support vital treatment alongside peer and family mentoring, recognising the important role loved ones play in recovery. Together, we remain committed to ensuring that those who have served, and their families, receive the support they need.”
