The White Ensign Association hosted its 2026 Maritime Seminar in London this week, bringing together senior leaders from Defence, industry, government and the seafaring charity sector to discuss the challenges shaping the future maritime landscape.
Hosted at Norton Rose Fulbright, the seminar featured video messages from the First Sea Lord and Maritime Minister with speakers including Vice Admiral Paul Beattie CBE, Second Sea Lord and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, Nick Brown of Lloyd’s Register, Rhett Hatcher of the UK Chamber of Shipping, Monica Kohli of WISTA UK and Mike Salthouse of NorthStandard. Discussions explored maritime security, workforce resilience, technological change and the importance of collaboration between Defence and industry, reflecting the charity’s role in supporting members of the Naval community while strengthening understanding and connections across the sector.
