VOS wins Shaping Portsmouth ‘Armed Forces Community’ Award
Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is excited to share the news that we won the Shaping Portsmouth Award 2026 in the ‘Armed Forces Community’ category. This award was announced on Friday, 16th January at the Shaping Portsmouth Conference.
This flagship event was once again held at Portsmouth Guildhall – where VOS joined other local businesses, leader’s, charities and organisations from across the city at this annual gathering.
It was a real privilege to be recognised alongside so many incredible organisations and individuals making a difference across our city – especially as Portsmouth celebrates its 100th year as a city, a truly historic milestone.
VOS CEO Ian Millen said:
“There can be no greater honour for a charity than being recognised by the community and the people that it serves. To receive this award from the great Island City of Portsmouth, as it celebrates it 100th year of city status is both humbling and thrilling in equal measure.
“We are deeply grateful to receive this recognition in the ‘Armed Forces Community’ category. It stands as a reflection of our local commitment to stand alongside those in our community and those who kindly volunteer their time and energy to serve those who have served, making sure that they have the health, wellbeing and welfare support that they deserve. It also reflects the insight and inspiration of our founders who started this journey back in 2008. Thank you Shaping Portsmouth for this touching recognition.”
The Shaping Portsmouth Conference, arranged by the Shaping Portsmouth team, gave attendees the chance to connect, share ideas and be part of the Portsmouth’s vibrant future.
