Veterans and Mainstream Mental Health Services Research Project

Centre for Mental Health has recently been commissioned by Forces in Mind Trust to explore how mainstream (non-veteran-specific) mental health services recognise and respond to veterans’ backgrounds, experiences, and ongoing needs, and how these services might become more veteran-friendly.

As part of this work, we are currently establishing an Advisory Group to help shape and guide the research. We are particularly keen to hear from veterans with lived experience of using mental health services, whether mainstream NHS services or veteran-specific provision.

Advisory Group members will play an important role in ensuring that the research is informed by the perspectives and experiences of veterans. Participation will involve contributing views and feedback at key stages of the project, helping to ensure the work remains relevant, meaningful, and grounded in lived experience.

A thank you voucher will be offered to recognise participants’ time and contribution.

If you are interested in getting involved or would like to find out more, we would be very pleased to hear from you at Grace.Igiamoh-Livingwater@centreformentalhealth.org.uk or Alex.Round@centreformentalhealth.org.uk.

Thank you for your time.
