Ahead of National Armed Forces Day in Liverpool

Start-up businesses and large national organisations came together at Liverpool today, in the lead up to National Armed Forces Day, to celebrate entrepreneurship within the Armed Forces community locally and nationally.

Amongst the sponsors were NatWest and The Military Mutual, who were hosted by Liverpool City Council, all coming together to support X-Forces beneficiaries. Three of these entrepreneurs included a former Royal Marine, RAF and Royal Navy family member that have launched businesses here in the Liverpool area.

NatWest are a long-time supporter of the Armed Forces, whilst The Military Mutual bring a fresh look at the insurance offerings for our Forces, this new upcoming organisation are bringing bespoke services to the community from the community. This is highlighted by their board which is made up of a number of armed forces veterans.

In Liverpool this year over 1,000 servicemen and women will be joined by their families and civilians from across the country; X-Forces joined the festivities to specifically celebrate those in the Armed Forces that bring innovation and enterprise skills to the community.

Ren Kapur, CEO of X-Forces said, “We are thrilled to be in Liverpool this year to show our support for the community, and to bring together our amazing supporters and entrepreneurs. Liverpool is a thriving city, with strong ties to the Armed Forces and an amazing history that reflects the characteristics the UK military and X-Forces upholds; respect, integrity, resilience and excellence. These characteristics also apply to enterprise, and it is no surprise that we are seeing more and more interest in business start up the region year on year.

Speakers from NatWest and Liverpool City Council were joined on stage by the three entrepreneurs from the area supported by X-Forces, Peter Allish, National Enterprise & Implementation Manager, NatWest Business Banking said, “Together with Ren and the team from X-Forces, we are proud to support more and more people from a military background into Enterprise, continuing their outstanding contribution to society.  Having entered into our second year of being a corporate partner with X-Forces, we work together to seek new and innovative initiatives to support this community through education, events such as today and social media content in the run up to Armed Forces Day.”

Martin Wing, X-Forces Chairman summarised, “Thank you to NatWest and Holt’s Military Bank, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and Liverpool City Council for their sponsorship of the event, it is through this balance of big business, charity and government that X-Forces have been able to support so many and achieve so much since 2013, and we were delighted to demonstrate this in Liverpool today. Thank you to Councillor Ian Francis for opening the event and highlighting the importance of the Armed forces community to this great city.”

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved, from attending an event or joining the campaign online to throwing a party or local event.

X-Forces
