Forces in Mind Trust – Director of Programmes (London)

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Salary: This is a senior appointment in the organisation and appropriate remuneration will be negotiated with the preferred candidate.

Forces in Mind Trust is now entering its most important stage as we firmly establish ourselves as an evidence-based transformational charity that will significantly improve the way in which ex-Service personnel and their families transition into, and sustain, fulfilled civilian lives. Founded in 2011 by the Big Lottery Fund, we are an endowed trust with a 20 year spend out of £35 million. A team of nine, we are led by a supportive and strategic thinking Board. The Trust is now looking to make a far greater impact with its grant funding, but the greatest change is our move to a ‘programmatic’ approach to all our work. Too much of our funding, although sensibly and properly awarded, has not yet delivered the impact its potential suggests, and we want that to change.

We are looking for our first ever Director of Programmes to enact this change. You will be an exceptional individual whose skills in directing programmes will be complemented by an ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders, and a capacity to work within a small team where an eye for detail is matched by strategic vision. You will bring outstanding communication and inter-personal skills, and you will be a proactive leader who will deputise for the CEO. Above all, you will be motivated by our vision to help former Service personnel and their families live fulfilled civilian lives. If this sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you.
