On the 27th June, the charity’s Patron, Lady Kitty Spencer, hosted an intimate lunch at Fortnum & Mason to raise funds to send a group of families on a respite break to Malta.
Lady Kitty was joined on the day by Give Us Time’s Ambassador, Ant Middleton, who was previously in the Special Boat Services and now hosts the Channel 4 shows SAS: Who Dares Wins and Mutiny.Read more
Give Us Time hosted a conference on 16th May 2018 engaging organisations with an interest in respite breaks. The objective was to assess the positive impact of respite breaks on the recovery and rehabilitation process of military families in need. Speakers included Professor Scott McCabe from Nottingham University Business School, Major Andy Wareham from the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and long-time supporter and host, Chris Grech, owner of the Balkan Jewel in Bulgaria. The Conference was attended by representatives from all 3 Services, The Not Forgotten Association, ABF The soldiers’ charity, Victory Services Club, Combat Stress, Help for Heroes, RAF Association, RAF Benevolent Fund, RN&RM Charity, RN&RM Children’s Fund, Little Troopers, Kings College London and the King’s Centre for Military Health Research.Read more
Give Us Time is thrilled that Center Parcs have donated fifteen short breaks to our military families in need. We would like to thank them for their generosity and continued support.
The window for applying for one of these breaks closes on Friday 22nd June and we have already been overwhelmed with responses received. We would also like to thank all the other service charities and welfare units that have referred families to us.Read more
Last week Give Us Time sent four military families – a total of eighteen people and a combination of family and friends, to the fabulous Wood Hall in the Lake District. We would like to thank the hosts for their kind donation of time.
Wood Hall is a stunning house that sleeps eighteen people and has six acres of landscaped gardens. The house has beautiful views across Skiddaw, Grassmore and the Lorton and Buttermere valleys. The gardens, designed by Thomas Mawson in 1910 are a haven.Read more
