OA’s drive to digitalisation continues with the launch of Virtual Careers Fair

Following the launch of its employment App at the end of last year, the OA has continued to embrace its drive for digitalisation of its services, with its first Virtual Careers Fair which will be held in April 2017.

Working in collaboration with social enterprise, SaluteMyJob, the fair will be aimed at serving and former Service men and women seeking to transition into management roles in the commercial and Third sectors.

This Employers Knowledge Swap will provide a forum for organisations to gain an understanding of current initiatives to translate military skills into a civilian context. It will also explore some of the different methodologies used as well as identifying some of the opportunities, barriers and benefits. OA to Target Operations Management as a Career Option with New Workshop

The Officers’ Association will target Operations Management as a potential job sector for transitioning officers with a workshop in York, on Feb 15th, 2017.

Hosted by Portakabin, the workshop will combine insight into the sector with practical experiences from key speakers as well as looking at the military qualifications that will translate across to the sector. Advice on shaping applications (and CV’s) to target the sector will be available.
