RFS Career Academy receives Army Central Fund support for Foreign & Commonwealth spouses

Recruit for Spouses (RFS) is proud to announce it has received funding from the Army Central Fund to support its Foreign and Commonwealth (F&C) Programme, a vital initiative designed to help spouses from F&C backgrounds gain recognition for their overseas qualifications in the UK.

The funding will be used to cover the cost of Statements of Comparability for the spouses of Army personnel, which are issued by UK ENIC to confirm the UK equivalence of international qualifications. This recognition is often a key requirement for employment or further education, and an essential first step for many spouses looking to rebuild their careers in the UK.

The F&C Programme was created in direct response to the growing need for targeted support for military spouses from Foreign and Commonwealth countries. To date, more than 100 spouses have registered their interest, with many already progressing through the application process. Thanks to the Army Central Fund’s support, a greater number of spouses will now be able to access this crucial service.

Heledd Kendrick, CEO at Recruit for Spouses, said:

“This funding from the Army Central Fund is more than just financial support — it’s an investment in the potential of a community that is often overlooked. For many Foreign and Commonwealth spouses, getting their qualifications recognised is the key to unlocking future opportunities. We are incredibly grateful to be able to offer this support and to continue helping families thrive.”

Caroline Crewe-Read, Director of the Army Central Fund, said:

“The Army Central Fund recognises the importance of Foreign and Commonwealth soldiers to the British Army but understands the challenges inherent in establishing a family life in the United Kingdom. We are pleased to be able to support this programme which offers spouses the opportunity to seek employment and continue their careers through achieving recognition of their existing qualifications.”

RFS Career Academy is committed to championing the needs of all military spouses and partners, and this funding represents a significant step forward in ensuring no one is left behind due to systemic or cultural barriers.
