The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) have created a festive advent calendar that gives supporters a chance to win a selection of charity giveaways.

Participants of the charity’s generous seasonal giveaway have 15 opportunities to win an array of Royal Navy and Royal Marines themed gifts.

By visiting the charity’s website, entrants can simply click open the doors to the RNRMC advent calendar to be in with a chance to win items such as; an HMS Queen Elizabeth Xmas Tree Decoration, famous RNRMC Carrier Bag, Festive Sports Top, Sailor’s Cushion, Beer and Band CDS amongst many others wonderful items.

Princess Royal Commends Supporters of the RNRMC at London Reception

The hard work and commitment of Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) supporters was celebrated with a presentation by Her Royal Highness Princess Anne.

As the national charity of the Royal Naval Service, the RNRMC is reliant upon a vital network of loyal supporters who help ensure it achieves its charitable goals.

The Supporters Reception, hosted at Trinity House in London, celebrated the commitment undertaken by the charity’s volunteers, fundraisers and corporate sponsors.

As Patron of the RNRMC, HRH Princess Anne was in attendance to award a select group of supporters with framed achievement certificates that recognised their individual efforts.

Wadworth joins forces with the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity to brew Carrier Ale

Wadworth, the Devizes-based family brewer and pub operator, has brewed a collaborative Pale Ale with The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. The beer, which is appropriately named Carrier Ale, celebrates the commissioning of the biggest and most powerful aircraft carrier ever built in Britain, HMS Queen Elizabeth, which will become our flagship aircraft carrier once it is commissioned later this year.

Carrier Ale will be available in exclusive bottles through the Wadworth online shop. For every pint and bottle sold, 5p will be donated to The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity; the principal charity of the Royal Navy which supports sailors, marines and their families for life.

New Recovery Equipment Transforms the Life of Royal Navy Weapons Engineer

A former Royal Navy Weapons Engineer whose life has been transformed by new recovery equipment has described the charitable help that she received as a “godsend”.

Naomi Lynch, 35, from Plymouth was a Weapons Engineer with the Royal Navy who served in the Gulf with HMS Northumberland.

During the course of a routine fitness session ET WE Lynch tore her hamstring on a treadmill and fell, severely injuring her hip. Such was the seriousness of her injury, Naomi underwent several surgeries and spent prolonged periods in hospital.

Forward-Looking Initiative Offers Affordable Wills for All

A national charity has joined forces with local solicitors for an initiative that offers affordable will creation in exchange for charitable donations.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines (RNRMC) ‘Make a Will Fortnight’ project asks solicitors from across the south coast to waive their fees on standard Wills. In exchange, those who require the service are instead encouraged to make a charitable donation to the RNRMC.

Between May and June 2017 three established local firms were involved across six locations in Hampshire. Within the fortnight, the firms of Churchers, O’Hara’s and Walter Grey & Co managed to generate 60 appointments and 51 donations from individuals and couples.

Famous Battle of Trafalgar Schooner Arrives in Time for Pickle Night

A replica schooner that sent news of victory at the Battle of Trafalgar and of the death of Admiral Lord Nelson arrived in Portsmouth for November’s Pickle Night.

HMS Pickle set sail from Kingston Upon Hull on the 25th October and made her way down the eastern coastline, stopping at Harwich, Dover and Eastbourne before completing her journey in Portsmouth.

Arriving on November 1st, the now privately owned schooner, welcomed on board a mix of individual crew member, serving naval personnel and civilians.

RNRMC Publish Outcomes for ‘Through Life Pathway’ Benevolence Grants for 2018

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity have published their revised outcomes for the ‘Through Life Pathway’ benevolence grant 2018 application process.

Available through the RNRMC’s website, the guidelines list an overview of timings for the application process and the Themes and Outcomes for the ‘Through Life Pathway’ application process.

Those who are eligible for assistance is defined by the RNRMC’s Memorandum of Association as: “Men and women who are serving or have served in the Naval Service or the Auxiliaries or the Women’s Royal Naval Service, and their dependents”

Royal Naval Reserve Commander Begins Charity Walk Along Britain’s Coastline

A Commander with the Royal Naval Reserve has chosen to spend the first year of her retirement taking on a gruelling charity walk around mainland Britain’s coastline.

Commander Jane Allen, who is soon to end a 37-year career, marked the beginning of her Victory Walk outside Admiral Nelson’s flagship, HMS Victory, in Portsmouth on Saturday 21st October.

Travelling anti-clockwise around the coastline, Jane started the first leg of her solo long-distance walk in Portsmouth on Saturday morning and will continue around mainland UK.

Royal Navy Ski Team’s Valiant World Record Attempt Raises Vital Money for Charity

A fearless group of Royal Navy skiers have completed a gruelling 24-hour world record attempt in order to raise money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).

The team took to the Gloucester Dry Ski Slope on Thursday 28th September with the aim of skiing from 5pm to 5pm the next day. The distance that the group aimed to ski would break the world record for distance skied on an artificial slope.

Despite initial problems with the ski slope’s drag lift, the Royal Navy skiers got off to a flying start on the Thursday evening. Supported on their first leg by Paralympic skier Millie Knight and her guide, Royal Marine, Brett Wild, the team were given amazing encouragement as they carved into the night.
