The Veterans’ Gateway self-help directory is now live

This spring, Veterans’ Gateway has partnered with Shelter, the UK’s leading housing and homelessness charity to raise awareness of some of the key issues faced by the Armed Forces community and how they can access the right information and help with their housing concerns.
A service launched last year, Veterans’ Gateway provides a first point of contact for veterans who need support, connecting them with the right organisation that can help on a range of issues including housing, finance, mental health and employment.
Read moreIn Great Britain, just under a quarter of working age veterans are not in employment[1]. However, for the first time this January, Veterans who are looking for employment on ‘civvy street’ can take advantage of a new service, Veterans’ Gateway.
With statistics showing that this is the busiest week for searches for ‘jobs’ in the UK[2],‘Veterans’ Gateway’ is the first point of contact for veterans who need support when it comes to achieving their career potential.

Veterans’ Gateway put veterans and their families in touch with the organisations best placed to help with the information, advice and support they need – from healthcare and housing to employability, finances, personal relationships and more. This new first point of contact, which was launched in June, is the first of its kind, bringing together Military charities and other support organisations under one roof to make finding the right support easier and quicker.
