Fully funded training at Finchale for the unemployed

Funded training is to be provided to unemployed people across County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland to give them a better chance of finding a job.

Health, training and work experts, Finchale, an independent charity based in Durham, is to deliver RTITB Forklift Truck training in partnership with Gateshead College. Through funding from the European Social Fund matched by the Skills Funding Agency, we are able to offer training at no cost to individuals who wish to retrain in order to gain employment.

Kent-based charity Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) hosted one hundred influential women from across the private and public sectors at the House of Lords on Monday to discuss the challenges disabled people face in finding employment and ways to close the disability employment gap.

Values shape a company and no-one recognises this more than AAA Property (North East) Ltd who’s AAA Caring Caretaker Ltd division has secured a new cleaning and maintenance contract with Durham based, independent charity, Finchale to service their 13.5 acre site in Pity Me.

Founded by father and daughter Richard H Tucker MBE and Alison Stephenson the company was first launched as AAA Property (North East) Ltd in 2007.

The Duke of Cambridge Launches Groundbreaking UK First – New SkillForce Prince William Award Programme To Give Children Confidence and Resilience For Life

The Duke of Cambridge has launching a groundbreaking new award programme run by SkillForce in his name today [March 1st 2017] to help schoolchildren build character, confidence and resilience. The SkillForce Prince William Award is the first award scheme of its kind. Delivered by the national education charity SkillForce, it targets younger children from six-years-old as well as teenagers. Aimed at six to 14-year-olds, the award programme draws on the expertise and skills of predominantly ex-Services personnel who work as SkillForce instructors.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) have launched a programme, called AWS re:Start which is aimed at providing training and potential employment opportunities for Service leavers, spouses, veterans, reserves and cadets.

This four week programme will take you through how to use the latest software development and cloud computing technologies.

£460k fund to help County Durham’s Armed Forces families

Durham based independent charity; Finchale has been awarded £460,000 over three years to invest in an intensive, Health, Training, Work, dedicated case-worker led programme that will support veterans and their families across the region.

Funded by the Chancellor using LIBOR funds – the charity will run a three year partnership programme that will provide dedicated case-workers to over 60 veterans and family members across County Durham

Local TV Chef and successful entrepreneur Mark Earnden, Founder of the award winning Food Education Company and Managing Director of TSYMCO (a food purchasing business offering much more than just procurement) has joined forces with Finchale to offer fresh, affordable and delicious food for events and conferences, training delegates, tenants and staff at Finchale’s site in Pity Me, Durham.

Forces Media Academy – Open for Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Forces Media Academy’s unique media course.

The free Higher National Certificate (HNC) Media Production Course is for service leavers or veterans, and all students on the one-year course also receive a bursary of £18k.

The full-time course starts on 25th September 2017 and will run until July 2018 at SSVC’s headquarters in Buckinghamshire, so students will work with award-winning media teams alongside the programme of lectures.
