We offer emotional and practical support to families facing challenging and complex needs, often finding family life overwhelming. Underpinning our work is the nurture and protection of children and the improved resilience of the family.
Our weekly home-visiting service provides free and confidential outreach support to families in their own homes, delivered by trained and supervised volunteers who are carefully ‘matched’ with the families they help. Through our support, we equip families to develop life skills in order to realise their full potential and make the best of their opportunities.
Home-Start Hampshire has an established history of supporting families in the Armed Forces, meeting the discrete needs of both serving and veteran families ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families. By supporting families early on, we give children the chance to grow up with prospects rather than problems.
We provide practical and emotional support for Armed Forces Families who are experiencing isolation and loneliness, those who are disadvantaged through lack of community integration or frequent changes in education settings, and those disadvantaged through poor physical, emotional and mental health.
The one-to-one support is tailored to the families’ needs and is often supplemented by an opportunity to attend group activities and parenting courses. Our primary aim is to keep families together, prevent crisis or possible family breakdown and prevent the need for welfare or statutory intervention.
To promote physical and mental good health in children and their parents.
To support parents in ensuring their children grow up with safe and effective care.
Along with their parents promote a safe, stimulating and happy environment for children.
In partnership with parents we help them to develop the financial stability and social, emotional and physical attributes they need to be the best parents they can be.
For families with at least one child under the age of seven we offer home visiting for 2-3 hours per week. Our service is not time limited. Supported by our staff team, trained volunteers are linked to families to help parents with a range of differing needs.

To assist practically and financially any former member of the UK Armed
Forces who is Homeless, at risk of being Homeless or in unsafe/ unsuitable accommodation.
To facilitate the transition into secure, permanent accommodation and to put
measures in place / ensure appropriate referrals to ensure this is sustainable
To liaise with the local authorities in terms of veterans’ housing applications to
ensure the veteran is not disadvantaged due to their service or service related
issues.
Assistance with any issues preventing the veteran from transitioning into secure, permanent accommodation (clothing for interviews, signposting for legal/ debt assistance, digital access assistance, transport )
Assist with deposits and 1st month’s rent for Private rentals
Liaison with local authorities and other official organisations where a veteran
is vulnerable and unable to do so.
Ensure that the veteran is referred to the correct organisations in terms of
physical and mental health requirements, benefits / financial support, training
and employment.
Referral to other organisations for Furniture, Carpeting and household goods
and assistance with these in emergency situations
Assistance with removal of furniture and household goods
Assistance with issues that prevent the veteran from sustaining secure
accommodation and family life – emergency hardship payments.
The relief of former members of the Royal Navy (Hong Kong Division) and the Hong Kong Military Service Corps and their dependants who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress and the advancement of the education and vocational training of such former members and their dependants in such ways as the Trustees from time to time think fit.
HorseBack UK is a charity which was set up in 2009 to empower service personnel and veterans suffering from life-changing injuries and post traumatic stress disorder. Using horsemanship and outdoor activities participants gain self confidence and self esteem amongst people who have experienced similar trauma.
The HorseBack experience is a three week residential programme spread over six months and follows three core goals: community, purpose and empowerment. It offers clients the opportunity to re-discover existing skills, learn new ones and gain a better understanding of themselves and their individual needs.
Respite break for Veterans of the British Forces and their dependents who have disabilities or special needs

Hounds for Heroes provide specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled personnel of HM Armed Forces and UK Emergency Services, whether the injury or illness is service related or not. Our dogs help veterans to live the life they would like to lead, returning to work, regaining independence with tasks of ordinary living at home and the community, renewed confidence, well-being and quality of life.
Our support begins with a detailed assessment of individual needs, followed by the careful selection, training, and matching of each assistance dog to ensure the best possible partnership.
We provide full lifetime support for each dog, each person and their family members, including ongoing aftercare, advice, and guidance to ensure both the beneficiary and assistance dog continue to thrive. This
long-term support is central to our model and helps sustain independence, confidence, mobility, and wellbeing for those we serve.
Our expertise lies in the training and placement of assistance dogs is tailored to complex physical needs,
alongside a structured support system for beneficiaries and their families.
To help clients to find “the right house, in the right place”.
We never turn anyone away and never close a case until the client asks us to.
We provide a bespoke housing information and advice service to veterans, serving personnel, reservists and their families.
This service is free and confidential and available to those currently living in, or wishing to locate to Scotland.
Each client receives a detailed housing approach report and follow on help from a named caseworker.

To ensure veterans and their families have access to affordable housing and holistic support services, enhancing their quality of life and community integration.
Hull 4 Heroes is committed to the relief of veterans and their families from HM Armed Forces in need by providing a range of charitable support services in Kingston Upon Hull, The East Riding Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Our support includes:

Resettlement and Rehabilitation: Assisting with the transition and reintegration into civilian life.
We achieve these goals by working in partnership with other charities and organisations with similar charitable aims and objectives, ensuring public benefit and community well-being.
