Read moreLast weekend former Welsh Guardsman and Iraq veteran Allan Roberts took part in the Welsh 2 Day Enduro, a 250-mile off-road dirt-biking race in North Wales, the biggest event of its kind in the UK.
Allan is also a double amputee and before the race said: “This is a tough challenge for me. As you can imagine, racing a motorbike off-road with no legs is interesting!” Not only did he complete the event, Allan managed to come 55th out of the 118 competitors – a truly amazing achievement!

Read moreThe Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) organised for the wife of a 97 year old veteran to make a surprise visit to him in a Manchester hospital to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary.
When DMWS Welfare Officer Karen Daniels met Mr Middleton for the first time in a Manchester Hospital in May 2017, he felt very low as he was missing his wife to whom he had been married for 75 years that month. The couple were hospitalised around the same time with health issues but had been living at home together independently prior to their admission.

This year, we held a brilliant Snowball and Charity Auction, which saw performances from Laura Wright and the Band of the Scots Guards, as well as a powerful speech from Kate Philp, an Army veteran.
We would like to thank all those that supported the event, and those that contributed so generously to the Charity Auction. We raised £70,000 that evening and are so grateful to all those who attended. In particular our thanks goes to Allen & Overy who provided such a great venue.
