The partners of residents at Royal Star & Garter’s three Homes have spoken about the importance of being able to spend time with their loved ones, whenever they want to, ahead of Valentine’s Day on 14 February.

A Falklands War medic has praised Royal Star & Garter’s Telephone Friendship Service available to the Armed Forces community for “giving him his voice back”, following the launch of his autobiography.

The Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) aimed at helping veterans residing in care homes throughout England has achieved a significant landmark.

Royal Star & Garter in Upper Brighton Road will showcase the outstanding person-centred long-term and short-break care it delivers to veterans, their family and friends, during open days on 31 January and 7 February.

WWII veteran Amy Wein marked her centenary on Monday 13 January by having lunch with her three children, and grandsons who had come from Australia and New Zealand, at Royal Star & Garter in Surbiton, where she now lives.

A school in Surbiton is helping veterans in its local care home by taking part in a charity walk.
