To provide comprehensive support services to family members of veterans, helping them navigate military-to-civilian transitions, access community resources, and strengthen family stability and well-being. The role focuses on advocacy, case coordination, education, and emotional support for spouses, children, caregivers, and dependents of veterans.
We are seeking 2 x PT (18 hours weekly) Veterans Family Specialist Worker to provide targeted, trauma-informed support to veterans and their families, helping them navigate the challenges associated with military life, transition, and civilian adjustment.
The postholder will work closely with families to strengthen relationships, improve wellbeing, and ensure access to appropriate statutory and third-sector services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialist one-to-one and family support
- Supporting families affected by service-related transition, trauma, or disadvantage
- Conducting assessments and developing support plans
- Working collaboratively with statutory services and Armed Forces charities
- Advocating on behalf of veterans and family members
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience supporting veterans, military families, or complex family needs
- Strong safeguarding and case management skills
- Knowledge of the Armed Forces community and its unique challenges
- A compassionate, flexible, and professional approach
