Army Benevolent Fund

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity – Trustee

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Unremunerated
Location: London

Our vision is that all serving soldiers, veterans and their immediate families should have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity. Since 1944, we have been giving a lifetime of support to soldiers and veterans from the British Army, and their immediate families, when they are in need, working across the British Isles. We make grants to individuals through their Regiments and Corps and support a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British Army ‘family’, both at home and around the world.

The Charity is now seeking two new Trustees to join the Board; one with a track record of senior experience of supporter engagement, and one with senior level marketing and communications experience. These Trustees will help to further develop ABF The Soldiers’ Charity’s profile, and the quality of its engagement with its supporters, ensuring the long term future of the Charity’s work.  The successful candidates will bring experience of fundraising and supporter engagement, including fundraising and data management best practice; and senior marketing and communications experience from any sector, respectively. As important as the relevant skills and experience is a commitment to the aims of ABF the Soldiers’ Charity and its values and an empathy with the people it supports. The estimated time commitment for this role is twelve days a year, but a willingness to readily share time and expertise is essential.

Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency adviser to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity on this appointment. A candidate brief with full application details can be obtained from their website at www.saxbam.com/appointments using reference code UYTCA. Alternatively email belinda.beck@saxbam.com or telephone 020 7227 0880 (during office hours). The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 13th October.
