Building Heroes – Centre Coordinator

Building Heroes are an award-winning charity based in West Sussex providing military service leavers, veterans and family members with construction skills training and employment support at  fifteen locations around the country.

We are seeking a Centre Coordinator for our new training centre in Cardiff who will be responsible for recruiting service leavers, veterans and family members on to the programme, supporting them throughout the training and identifying suitable employment opportunities on graduation. To  achieve this, the post holder will work with our existing referral agencies, establish and grow a network of businesses within the building trades who will provide employment and/or further training for our service leavers, veterans and family members.

Candidates will ideally have experience of learner recruitment and welfare support, plus a track record of networking to establish work placements or progression opportunities. Be self-motivated, outgoing, approachable, proactive and use their own initiative. A military background, or knowledge of  the resettlement process would be advantageous. The post holder will be spending a significant amount of their time at our training premises in Cardiff and a commitment to travel to external meetings and access to transportation will be beneficial.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend marketing events/job fairs across the Region and build relationships with businesses who would be willing to recruit service leavers, veterans and family members. The post holder may also be required to provide out-of-hours telephone support for learners on the programme.

This post is a part time role of 22.5 hours worked flexibly across the week and available for an imminent start. There is a possibility that the hours will increase at a later stage.
