King Edward VII’s Hospital – Senior Prospect Research and Insights Officer

£35,000 FTE per annum, permanent contract
King Edward VII’s Hospital, London with flexible working

King Edward VII’s Hospital offers a unique fundraising proposition and exciting opportunity for this role to lead all prospect research and insights work to help the team convert new leads into long term supporters.

As an independent charitable hospital, with a proud history of Royal Patronage, philanthropic support ensures it continues to provide the very best care to their patients – which includes a significant veterans health programme.

This year, the hospital launches a major capital appeal – raising £67M for a full refurbishment of the hospital, and an additional £33M for endowment. As Senior Prospect Research and Insights Officer your role will be to research and analyse potential donors who can support the appeal/general funds for the hospital with high value donations.

The organisation already has a track record of 8-figure gifts – this position offers a fantastic chance to support the team in securing donations of this level, with the opportunity for interaction with some of the country’s wealthiest philanthropists.

Deep-rooted connections with the veteran community remain important, with the hospital running an award-winning Pain Management Programme, grants programme and research programme to provide subsidised healthcare to those in the armed forces.

As Senior Prospect Research and Insights Officer you will:

  • Lead on all prospect research and insights work, collaborating with the wider team to support portfolio management, stewardship development, communications and insight, cultivation support and reporting;
  • Identify new prospects, with the capacity to give significant donations to the hospital – critically assessing which elements of the hospital’s programmes/appeal may be aligned to their philanthropic motivations;
  • Provide high quality insight and briefings for events and meetings for a range of senior stakeholders – including the CEO, Capital Appeal Board and Trustees;
  • Effectively utilise Raiser’s Edge NXT to ensure excellent record keeping and long term, effective relationship management.

The role would best suit:

  • An individual with expertise of prospect research/high value fundraising;
  • Knowledge of prospect research best practice and compliance
  • Someone with the requisite project management skills to coordinate internal and external stakeholder relationships in support of pipeline development;
  • A detail orientated individual, with the ability to provide high-level research and briefings to senior stakeholders;
  • A candidate with a good understanding of philanthropy fundraising and the mechanisms required to establish long-term, significant relationships.
